Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and StockTheta ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using stocktheta.com you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use the service.
What StockTheta is
StockTheta publishes rules-based research and educational information about stocks and options: daily trade setups, a monthly list of trend leaders, and covered-call ideas for holdings you enter. It does not place trades, hold money, or connect to your brokerage account.
Not investment advice
Nothing on StockTheta is personalized investment, financial, legal or tax advice, or a recommendation to buy or sell any security. We are not a registered investment adviser or broker-dealer. Ideas are produced by models and rules that can be wrong, use data that can be delayed or incorrect, and do not know your full financial situation. You alone decide what to trade, and you are responsible for the results.
Options involve substantial risk and are not suitable for every investor. Read the Options Clearing Corporation's Characteristics and Risks of Standardized Options before trading options. Past or backtested performance does not guarantee future results. You can lose money, including more than you invest in some strategies.
Your account
You must be at least 18 and able to form a binding contract. Keep your password private; you are responsible for activity on your account. One person per account; don't share or resell access, and don't redistribute ideas from the service.
Free trial, subscriptions and cancellation
New accounts get a 7-day free trial. After it ends, continued access requires a paid plan ($16 per month or $144 per year, plus any applicable tax). Payments are processed by Stripe. Plans renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. You can cancel any time from your Account page; you keep access until the end of the period you paid for. Except where the law requires otherwise, payments are non-refundable. We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice before your next renewal.
Acceptable use
Don't attempt to break, overload or reverse-engineer the service, scrape it in bulk, access other people's data, or use it for anything unlawful. We may suspend or close accounts that do.
Availability and changes
We aim to publish ideas every trading day but don't guarantee the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change or discontinue features. If we discontinue the service entirely, we will refund the unused portion of any prepaid plan.
Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent the law allows, StockTheta is not liable for trading losses, lost profits, or indirect or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change is material we will email you or show a notice in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use StockTheta after that means you accept the updated terms.
